Dr Ranjana Srivastava (Founder Director)

Dr Ranjana Srivastava, former Head, Microbiology Division at CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow and Founder Director of Nextec Lifesciences is an astute professional with 38 years of rich and qualitative experience in molecular biology and biotechnology. With an initial startup at University of Bruxxeles, Belgium and post doctoral research at Brown University, USA, she joined CDRI as faculty and continued therein. She was also visiting scientist at Center for Vaccine Development, Baltimore, USA and Institute Pasteur de Lille, France. Her most significant contribution includes development of a TB diagnostic kit, surrogate screens for high throughput screening of anti-TB compounds, mining new drug targets from TB genome by genetic approaches, screening of novel chemical entities against Tuberculosis and NTM, development of in-vivo murine infection model for M. fortuitum and molecular approaches for selection of genes expressed during infection of M. tuberculosis in host.

Prof. B.S. Srivastava, former Head , Microbiology Division at CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, Professor and Chairman of Centre for Biotechnology, Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi, India and founder Director of Nextec Lifesciences is a seasoned, innovative and high performing professional. He was involved in development of Course Curriculum, human resource and growth of Biotechnology. He has served as visiting faculty of Biotechnology at BHU, Central University, Mizoram and as visiting Scientist at Center for Vaccine Development , Baltimore, USA, University of Ancona, Italy and Institut Pasteur de Lille, France.. He has vast research experience of more than 40 years in the field of Microbial genetics, DNA repair, pathogenesis of cholera and tuberculosis, He is recipient of Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar award of CSIR in 1984.
