A novel kit for Rapid and Accurate diagnosis of Tuberculosis

1. The kit is based on isothermal nucleic acid amplification using oligonucleotide primers, a combination of three enzymes and amplicon specific probe for fluorogenic real-time detection. The specific primers and probe are IPR of Nextec Lifesciences.

2. Detects Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB bacteria) specific DNA in clinical fluid of suspected TB patients.

Rapid and clinician friendly  - Results available online within 10 min

Allows detection of early infection (sensitive) - Detects as low as 10 TB bacilli

Specificity - Test is 100% specific when tested on clinical samples from suspected TB patients, using culture as gold standard. No false positives were detected

Multiplex - Two M. tb specific genes (targets) can be detected in a single reaction in a single tube (multiplex). Amplification of two genes is detected by fluorometry using two fluorophores/ agarose gel electrophoresis.
